The 2019 London Marathon (officially 2019 Virgin Money London Marathon) was the 39th annual mass participation London Marathon race took place on Sunday, 28 April 2019, in London, England. World record holder Eliud Kipchoge from Kenya won for the fourth time in the last five years. The last 10 years the London marathon was won by Kenyans (8 times) and Ethiopians (2 times) only .
This year the Ethiopian Athletes team has made the best performance by becoming 5 Ethiopians out of the top eight and three out of the top five. Mosinet Geremew ,Mule Wasihun and Shura Kitata Tola were second ,third and fourth respectively and Mo Farah became fifth . Despite loosing the first spot Mosinet Geremes and Mule Wasihun broke London Marathon record of last year. Congratulation to all Ethiopian Athletes for the best performance ever!!
